The Brits Awards 2012. Big night, Big Venue and Talent by the Limofull

Next month, one of the most exciting nights of the British Music calendar takes place when the stars converge on London's O2 Arena for the annual Brits Awards.

Everyone will be watching out with a kindly eye for Adele who will give her UK fans a reassuring boost with a live comeback performance following recent surgery for a serious vocal cord problem that had the potential to prematurely end her career.

Fans of Blur will also have reason to look forward to the big night. After a two and a half years break from live performance, the band will reunite specially for the occasion where they will be honoured with the highly regarded prize for Outstanding Contrbution to Music. Others to have been honoured in the past include U2, Oasis and Sir Paul McCarney.

With four nominations, 20-year-old Ed Sheeran is ahead of all contenders to lay clammy hands on the Peter Blake designed trophy. But there is plently of formidable competition from a high-gloss list of artists in the various categories, and all will be known only on the night.

If you are not one of those who will Limo-in from the exquisite luxury of a private penthouse, you may be interested instead in settling for the excellent offering of one of the suberb quality hotels near the O2 Arena. Covent Garden - a throbbing hub of humanity

Covent Garden is one of the most exciting areas of London and a throbbing hub of humanity. It is a veritable magnet for tourists, but with equal polarity it sadly repels many Londoners who just can't stand the crowds.

It has a colourful history with many historical associations, and at one point reached such a level of decay that what is now a gem in London's crown could easily have been lost to the city. But good sense prevailed and with sterling effort Covent Garden was revitalized and remodeled as a showcase of unbridled urban vivacity - and all in the best possible taste.

So now it's a panoramic-take on whatever appeals to you most with a choice between street entertainers, great shopping, lively pubs and restaurants, or culture and the arts ....and possibly more if you go looking for it.  The choice, as they say, is wide and wonderful.

You could also be looking for a good hotel. Well, how about an excellent hotel instead? That is, after all, why we at London's Best Hotels are here in the first place. And from among our cheap London hotels deals we have some fantastic offers for quality hotels near Covent Garden.

So you can straight away be in among the clowns, jugglers, musicians and acrobats in the drop of a hat or the juggle of a ball. Here is our current offer -

London Transport - flexible, convenient and reasonably cheap

London Bus  .... the perfect way to journey through the city.

Good old London Bus. Too often it is overlooked and underestimated. But as I've often advised visitors to London, it can be sheer joy just travelling around on a front row seat on the upper deck of a London bus. It can provide a dynamic, changing vista that makes travelling through the city great fun ... and especially for children.

Cabs in London are pricey, but the rest of the transport system is good value and child-friendly. Being sensible and wise, don't buy single tickets for your journeys. Instead, chose the economical option and buy an Oyster card from the start of your visit. It's way cheaper, more convenient and flexible, allowing you to switch between bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground and more. In addition, discounts and free travel are provided for children. You can find out more to help you choose your travel options at the Transport for London website.

Travelling in the city centre will see you pass some of the central London hotels we are proud to feature here on our website. Even seen from the bus, they are very inviting and, of course, brilliantly situated. As usual, with every post there is a deal. This one is for hotels near Tower Bridge - an absolutely ideal choice of location.

Knightsbridge hotel promotion for 2012

The weather is cooler, the skies are grey, and for many of us it is just a bit difficult to get right back into the swing of things at the start of another year. But that is no excuse. No excuse, that is, not to come to London at anytime, any season. It is just such a wonderful city that it will never fail to disappoint regardless of when you come to visit.

So let's say, at least, that we will expect to see you sometime soon - and the sooner the better. In anticipation, one of our current London hotel deals ......
