Next month, one of the most exciting nights of the British Music calendar takes place when the stars converge on London's O2 Arena for the annual Brits Awards.
Everyone will be watching out with a kindly eye for Adele who will give her UK fans a reassuring boost with a live comeback performance following recent surgery for a serious vocal cord problem that had the potential to prematurely end her career.
Fans of Blur will also have reason to look forward to the big night. After a two and a half years break from live performance, the band will reunite specially for the occasion where they will be honoured with the highly regarded prize for Outstanding Contrbution to Music. Others to have been honoured in the past include U2, Oasis and Sir Paul McCarney.
With four nominations, 20-year-old Ed Sheeran is ahead of all contenders to lay clammy hands on the Peter Blake designed trophy. But there is plently of formidable competition from a high-gloss list of artists in the various categories, and all will be known only on the night.
